JAPAN RAIL CAFE’s brew-tiful line-up of 13 local Japanese beer this August

With summer being the hottest in August, what better way to quench your thirst than with a bottle of ice-cold beer? This month, JAPAN RAIL CAFE is proud to introduce an exciting line-up of top-quality craft beers from all over Japan for Jibiru Time!
Jibīru (地ビール), also known as locally-brewed beer, is available at JAPAN RAIL CAFE until 31 August 2022, featuring an attractive range from the prefectures of Hokkaido (北海道), Ishikawa (石川), Kanagawa (神奈川), Nagano (長野), and Tokyo (東京). Abashiri Brewery (網走ブルワリー)

Abashiri Beer: Abashiri Ohkotsk Blue Ryuhyo Draft
Prefecture: Hokkaido
Beer style: Happoshu
ABV: 5%
Brewed using drift ice traditionally-harvested during the Abashiri (網走) winter, Abashiri Ohkotsk Blue Ryuhyo Draft boasts a bright blue colour inspired by the Sea of Okhotsk (オホーツク海 Ohōtsuku umi), created by the use of natural dye Gardenia extract.
Futako Brewery (ふたこブルワリー)

Futako Beer: Futako Ale 026
Prefecture: Tokyo
Beer style: Session Ale
ABV: 4.5%
A classic session ale of Futako Brewery with a sweet scent like flowers and a flavour like citrus. Its light-coloured body brings out an elegant scent.
Futako Beer: Hanamizuki White
Prefecture: Tokyo
Beer style: White Ale
ABV: 5%
This white ale is inspired by the dogwood tree, the flower of Futako-Tamagawa (二子玉川) in Tokyo. It has a refreshing taste with a subtle sweet-sourness derived from wheat malt.
Futako Beer: Unane Pale Lager

Beer style: Indian Pale Lager (IPA)
ABV: 5%
An Indian Pale Ale rearranged in the Futako style and brewed with lager yeast. This beer has a clean bitterness and gorgeous aroma.
Kanazawa Brewery (金沢ブルワリー)

Kanazawa Beer: Virgin Ale
Prefecture: Ishikawa
Beer style: Pale Ale
ABV: 5%
The fruity aroma of the fresh ale yeast and richness from the malt and hops gives this beer its rich flavour. This is the brewery’s first beer
Kanazawa Beer: Gold Bach
Prefecture: Ishikawa
Beer style: Craft Lager
ABV: 6%
The only lager produced at the brewery, this beer maintains the refreshing and rich taste of lager with a tinge of sweetness.
Ginger Liquor
Prefecture: Ishikawa
Beer style: Ginger Beer
ABV: 3%
A gluten-free carbonated alcohol that tastes similar to Ginger Ale. It is a light-weight ginger beer made with rice sugar and with only 3% alcohol content.
Karuizawa Brewery (軽井沢ブルワリー)

Ale boating the lustre of gold and crisp hop flavour and fresh aromas reminiscent of grapefruit and muscat grape.

ABV: 5.5%
Pilsner-style premium beer, with notes of fine aroma hop. Excellent smooth and bitter hop flavour.
WAKU WAKU BREWERY (わくわくブルワリー)

Kanazawa Hyakumangoku Beer: Koshihikari Ale
Prefecture: Ishikawa
Beer style: Rice Ale
ABV: 4.5%
Locally-grown Koshihikari (コシヒカリ) rice is used to produce this light and refreshing beer, making the Koshihikari Ale popular amongst ladies or non-heavy drinkers. This beer pairs especially well with Japanese and other Asian cuisines.
