Out of masks? Make a face shield with an A4 folder!
As the global shortage of face masks puts a strain on the healthcare institutions worldwide, the people of the world have gotten creative with DIY alternatives for their daily personal use, thereby saving these precious masks for the front-liners who need it the most.
Speaking of what the front-liners are wearing... how effective are face shields?
While health professionals are divided on whether face shields are an effective alternative for everyday life, there is at least some agreement that wearing one will block water droplets while preventing the wearer from touching their faces—which is undeniably a good way to curb the spreading of the coronavirus.
Japanese designer Tachikawa Eisuke, the man behind the design agency NOSIGNER, has come up with a low-cost and innovative method to create DIY face shields with nothing but an A4 clear folder and a pair of scissors. All you need to do is to download this template, print and insert into a clear folder, then cut along the guidelines. Easy peasy.
